RETROSPECTIVE ‘24: A Year of Continued Innovation and Expanded Community
As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the milestones achieved and the unwavering support of our community. This year has been marked by significant advancements in our product offerings, memorable events, and the strengthening of our global connections.
Mallorca Calling
In Mid-March, we landed on our favorite European island to host our largest Pop Up to date: 2 months of fun in the heart of Palme de Mallorca. In addition to debuting some of our most exciting product launches to date, we hosted several group rides and forged new friendships with riders on the island, and visitors from across Europe.
First We Take Manhattan, Then We Take Berlin
As only Leonard Cohen could articulate…We’ve long felt a strong connection between New York and Berlin; two vibrant cities with diverse communities and a palpable sense of cultural expression. Towards the tail end of our stay in Mallorca, we were fortunate to travel to the German capital to see friends new and old, and launch our inaugural European retail partnership with NEW ORD3R. We hosted a ride attended by dozens of members of the Berlin cycling community, venturing Northeast of the city towards Buckow. Berlin claims home to a vibrant cycling community with a surprising amount of fantastic riding both within and just beyond the city limits.
Making an IMPACT
2024 saw the expansion of some of the brand’s most iconic pieces through the RNRNYC™ IMPACT Collection. The IMPACT & IMPACT Pro Bib Shorts were launched, strengthening the offering of our race collection and supporting athletes during their most intense efforts. The IMPACT Bib Shorts introduced aero & woven fabrics in a bold, unapologetic design. Further aerodynamic achievements were gained through the IMPACT Pro Aero Road Suit.
Pioneering Innovations
In 2023, we completed the buildout of our design studio just about above our boutique in Midtown Manhattan. The studio represents the starting line for many of our most ambitious technical undertakings. One in particular is the Control 3D Bib Shorts, featuring our first 3D-printed chamois and a brand-new ergonomic design. This innovation, developed in collaboration with Elastic Interface® in Italy, offers unparalleled comfort and freedom of movement, setting a new standard in cycling apparel.
Josh Ross of Outside Magazine stated, “[the] RUBBER N’ ROAD CONTROL 3D Bib Shorts are on another level. These are the best bib shorts I’ve ever used and the 3D printed chamois is only part of that.”
Celebrating Our Third Anniversary
July marked the third anniversary of our NYC store. Reflecting on our journey from a modest beginning to becoming a brand recognized for innovation and community building, we are reminded of the dedication and passion that fuel our mission. Our commitment to providing exceptional equipment for athletes remains steadfast as we continue to push the boundaries of cycling apparel.
Expanding Our Community Through Events
This year, we organized the Schmutz Gravel Series, a three-weekend gravel ride experience that guided participants through some of New York's hidden gravel gems. Starting on November 3rd, the series was crafted to offer our community rugged and scenic routes, enhancing the camaraderie among riders.
Additionally, our exploration of Cold Spring, NY, highlighted the region as a gateway to gravel cycling in the Tri-State area. This adventure not only allowed us to test our PREVAIL Collection in real-world conditions but also to share the beauty of the Hudson Highlands with our community.
Looking Ahead
As we close 2024, we are excited about the future. Our dedication to innovation, community engagement, and the pursuit of excellence in cycling apparel remains our driving force. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our community in NYC and around the globe for their unwavering support.
Here's to more adventures, innovations, and shared successes in the coming year.
