We are grateful to our community, at home and abroad, our workers, and our global retail partners every day. Thanksgiving is just an opportunity to say it out loud.
A year ago, we launched RUBBER N’ ROAD’s inaugural collection. It resulted from a decade-long expedition, obsessive research and development, and a design language that authentically reflects our story and identity.
As an independent brand, we aren’t here to make clothes. We are here to make a change: to bring athletes a new level of performance, to produce our apparel in responsible quantities, to pay our employees, partners, and co-producers fairly, and to bring our unique stories to life through design and creativity.
In a landscape of private equity-owned brands who slap logos on the same old same old, we design and develop performance pieces from beginning to end in NYC just above our boutique. Our hands-on approach enables us to engage directly with our global community, welcome its members to our brand house, and take innovations to the extreme at every level of creation.
Our unique design and manufacturing know-how enable us to make many garments entirely in NYC’s Garment District, less than a mile from our boutique.
This Friday, our NYC boutique and website will be closed. We choose not to participate in the extreme consumerist tradition of Black Friday. It isn’t good for the environment. It is harmful to people’s mental health to consume goods that they don’t need or value. It is bad for independent businesses and our retail partners, who play a vital role in building cycling communities and the sport we love worldwide.
Instead, this Black Friday, like every other day, we focus on crafting exceptional products to improve athletes' experiences worldwide.
We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving out on the road!
