Prismatic Speed explores this phenomenon through the intersection of industrial design and technical performance.
Renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid developed the graphic language. A dynamic visual field where color dissolves into motion and movement becomes visible. The pattern reflects Rashid’s long-standing exploration of futurism, digital culture, and the sensory experience of contemporary design.
The collaboration began through a conversation at our NYC studio between RUBBER N' ROAD Head of Design, Gil Lavi, and Karim Rashid.
The jersey was designed and engineered by Lavi. The graphic architecture was mapped across the body to follow the natural movement of the rider in motion, using cutting edge woven materials. Panels were carefully shaped to preserve the integrity of the graphic field while maintaining aerodynamic performance and race-ready ergonomics.
The result is not simply a graphic applied to a garment.
It is a study in how design behaves at speed.
Across the shoulders, sleeves, and torso, color shifts as the rider moves through light. Lines stretch and dissolve as the body accelerates. What appears still in the studio becomes kinetic on the road.
This dialogue between visual design and physical motion sits at the core of the project.
Karim Rashid’s graphic language captures the sensation of velocity. Rubber N’ Road’s performance architecture translates that language into a garment engineered for taste and speed.
The jersey is constructed using lightweight race fabrics developed to optimize breathability, compression, and aerodynamic stability. Laser-cut sleeve edges create a smooth transition between fabric and skin, while a structured rear pocket system maintains stability during high-intensity efforts.
Every element was refined to support performance without compromising the visual integrity of the design.
The outcome is both expressive and precise. A garment designed to move through light.
