Description
Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State, and for good reason. The region offers adventure-bound cyclists endless opportunities for exploration, with challenges awaiting around nearly every corner. Defined by the Green Mountain Nation Forest which runs South to North through the state, Vermont's gravel roads are anything but flat. They twist and wind through pristine wilderness and expansive farmland seemingly without end.
Our 250+ mile bikepacking route through the Green Mountains departs from Londonderry, VT and travels Northeast on punchy gravel roads. The route then West and riders traverse three of Vermont's mighty gaps: Warrent, Lincoln and Brandon. Lincoln Gap is considered to be the steepest paved mile in America. The climb features 1.5 miles at a nearly 15% average incline with multiple sections above 20%.
The route should take riders approximately 5 days and will feature campsites in both remote and established locations. Please note that our bikepacking is merely a blueprint for you to craft your own adventure. Riders assume and understand the risk of cycling in these challenges locations.
