This edition features a redesigned shell which maintains the same general appearance of its predecessor, but offers optimized aerodynamic performance. The Protone Icon features a redesigned closure system that offers even more durability and comfort. The Protone is an icon, the Protone Icon is... yeah. Excellent helmet, stylish, aero, not heavy. Best of both worlds. This review isnt really helpful for a product that everyone knows is amazing, but I rather would focus on how blown away I was by the availability at RNR. Kask now has their own shop in NYC, and I was on the list for weeks if not months to be notified when they got them in. RNR beat them to the punch. I already had hundreds of miles on my Protone Icon by the time my friend at Kask texted me to tell me they were in stock at the Kask store. Nicely done gents.

It is an amazing helmet. Very light and fits like a glove. Highly recommend it!

Before purchasing the Icon, I owned the previous Protone. The Icon is lighter and much more comfortable, while matching the stylishness of its predecessor. That being said, I have an issue with the fit. My head circumference is around 56cm. At first I ordered the small bc the medium Protone felt too big. Well the small was crazy tight. I exchanged the small for a medium and the medium is too big. On the road, it's not as bad but off road I tighten it down as far as it will go and it still bounces around. I need to find another brand that fits me better. I wish they made a S/M. So if you don't have a weird noggin, like me, I highly recommend this helmet. And make sure you test the fit before committing. These helmets are not cheap.
